I sat through the whole thing...what a snooze! That was the most boring Oscars ever! (Come to think of it, I think that every year.)

I watched about ten minutes and then fell asleep. Was this show EVER any good?

When I was a kid I used to absolutely love it! I had generally seen most of the movies and I just loved the glamor of it. But now it's just obnoxious. I don't mean to go all Andy Rooney, but I so rarely even go see these crappy movies anymore.

I had it on for the whole 4 hours, but wasn't paying close attention all of that time.

From what I paid attention to, I thought it was fine. I'm the opposite of you t/s1, when I was younger, I never even gave it a look. One my best friends who I attended college with was really into the Awards back then, and the fashion etc.. And I used to consider him a borderline sissy for doing so. lol I used to tease him for watching and caring. But over the course of the past 10 or so years, I've gotten hooked on awards shows and red carpets. I think I've been influenced by girlfriends and my sister when it comes to this.

But I was getting work done Sunday night, but I had my eye on the Awards show and Red Carpets, the entire time.

So who's the sissy now? lol

Did you hear about them slighting Farrah in the In Memoriam portion of the show? I didn't realize it at the time, but I did feel like the list of deceased actors was unusually low. They seemed to recognize as many producers and writers and studio execs, as actors.

A tough year for Farrah's fans though in terms of her death being recognized. First Michael Jackson's death overshadowed hers, then the Academy totally disses her.

As for the Awards themselves, I really want to see "Hurt Locker" now. Anybody here see it?

I guess I'm happy Mo'Nique won best supporting. I still think the movie "Precious" is very overrated though. Other than the final scene of the movie, with Mo, Mariah Carey and Gabby, I thought the movie, and Mo'niques performance was only okay.

But Mo'nique is a cool sista. I'm not gonna hate on her win. Also I hadn’t seen the movies or performances of any the women Mo’nique was nominated along with, so for all I know, Mo very well may have been the best.

p.s. t/s dd you see the tribute to filmmaker John Hughes? I'm thinking you may have enjoyed that in light of how you were a fan of his films. (I didn't know he did "Weird Science." I loved that movie when I was in school. My roomie and I would watch it over and over again. Quoting all of Anthony Michael Hall's lines.) But that was a part of the show that made me feel old. Many of the former young actors from those movies, look so old now. It reminded me of the fact that I'm old too. (smile)

It also seemed that even the deceased they did show were on for like 2 seconds! Patrick Swayze had more of a tribute on DWTS!

I did love the John Hughes tribute. And you are right...everyone looked so old!
